A match will comprise of two triples rinks (three bowls per player)
So as not to be over dependent on evening light, 16 ends will be played
NO trial ends, but the first two ends can only be won by one shot
No limit on the number of player rotations during a game
If a team has difficulty in fielding six bowlers, then a rink could be played as a pair. Reducing each team to 8 bowls. The skip of the triple will play only two bowls
There will be no stipulations on the basis of age or gender
The minimum size of bowl will be OO
8 match points available. One inclusion point per rink for starting a match with 3 bowlers overall match winner 2pts (1pt each for a draw) Similarly 2pts per rink
The national rules of play would generally prevail, any exceptions would be at the discretion of the skips on each rink
Mentoring will be permitted, providing it does not take place on the mat or is found intrusive by a bowler on the mat. Only one appointed non playing mentor per rink is allowed and is permitted to be at either end of the green (exception re minors, see below)
It is hoped that because it is a league, participants would wear a club shirt, however, if that was a barrier to participation then no objection or comment should be made to the bowler or skip. If they wore a colour similar to their team mates, it would be appreciated. No other clothing guidelines with regard to uniformity apply, i.e. whites, greys or any other coloured shorts or trousers
End of play early due to poor weather and count as a result should see a minimum of 8 ends completed on both rinks. If play is curtailed due to inclement weather, after 15 minutes have elapsed from leaving the green, the match will be cancelled unless both captains agree to wait longer. Any resumption of play may include agreement between the captains as to the number of ends to be completed.
Matches should be played without players leaving the green for a break but if they wish to provide a drink part way through, that is at the discretion of the Home team
